Planning your surgery
Your surgeon will also examine the position of your hairline, eyebrows, and upper eyelids and explain what he finds.
Once he has completed his examination, he will discuss your general health to ensure there are no complications.
Finally, your surgeon will recommend the most appropriate procedure and explain it thoroughly. He will also discuss your preparation for the operation and how to optimise the healing process after surgery.
Naturally, he will take the time to answer any questions and most importantly, discuss your expectations.
A small, 5 centimetre incision is made at the top of your head behind the hair-line, leaving a minor scar that is hidden in your hair.
The procedure will take approximately 60 minutes and you will be able to go home afterwards.
The incision in the hairline is dressed with antibiotic cream. Some patients may experience mild pain, swelling, and bruising, which can be improved with ordinary painkillers and elevation of the head. Some patients may develop black eyes, which also clear up in a few days.
You will need rest for 1-2 days followed by light duties, and you can resume normal activities within 10-14 days. The stitches may need to be removed after around 5-7 days.
When you return home, you will be given a card with the details of your follow-up visit, the phone number of our clinic, and the personal number of your surgeon. You can contact us day or night if you have any concerns or questions.
